Description: It’s really simple – just start a point system for how the whole class behaves, and after 10 points or so, they get a fun day. When they’re listening and working, I give them a point, and write it up on the board, and when they’re not, I take one away. I got so tired of screaming at them every day, so now whenever they’re making me mad, I just go to the board and erase a number, and then they usually get the hint. Since I started this in the middle of the year, it took them a little while to get used to it, but now after a couple weeks, they’re noticably better, and my classroom’s a lot calmer. I’ll let them choose what they want to do for their fun day (watch a movie, listen to songs, etc….), and it’s also become a competition between the classes.
