I instituted 4 roles within the groups that could be made out of the class. There was a project manager, an accountant, spokesperson and builders. I gave a budget of 1 leva per person and the accountant had to report any expenses they had as a group. The spokesperson had the task of introducing the group and there methods in front of the class, while the builders had to report what kind of materials they used and how it was constructed. The project manager allowed some to assume leadership roles and acted as a liaison between the group and the instructor. He or she was also in charge of assessing the performance of the group and their input aided the grading of the overall project.
